Joshua Grant Nienke "Nitro," beloved husband and daddy, age 32, went to be with his Father in heaven on Aug. 29, 2011, at Via Christi Hospital,St. Francis, Wichita.
He was born April 14, 1979, in Hutchinson, the son of Richard Allen and Margaret Jean Penny Nienke.
Josh was an Iraq War veteran serving with the United States Army from 2006 to 2009. He attended the Motorcycle Mechanic Institute and was a motorcycle mechanic for Rats Performance.
On July 22, 2000, he married Jennifer Sanders in Sylvia, Kan. She survives.
Other survivors include: three children, Felicity Rose Nienke, Logan James Nienke and Kelsie Caytlynn Nienke, all of the home; mother, Margaret Logan of Hutchinson; father and stepmother, Richard and Mary Nienke of Dubuque, Iowa; brothers, Jeremy Allen Nienke of Geneseo, Ill., Jeffrey Wayne Nienke of Beaumont, Texas; Jamison Nienke and Jacob Nienke, both of Dubuque, Iowa, Jarod Nienke of Burlington, Kan.; grandmothers, Winifred Jean Nienke of Inman and Beverly Burgey of Sylvia; mother-in-law, Shari Chansler and husband Jim and father-in-law, Jerry Sanders. all of Stafford; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jason Dean Nienke, and a stepfather, Mark Logan.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, 2011, at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Steve Gill presiding. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today, Thursday and Friday, with family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Elliott Mortuary Chapel. Burial will be in Sylvia Cemetery, Sylvia, Kan., with military honors conducted by Fort Riley Honor Guard.
