Jovita Christine Toland, 22, died Dec. 16, 2005, at Hutchinson Hospital, following a sudden illness.
She was born Oct. 15, 1983, in Hutchinson, the daughter of Loren Ray and Lillian Salas Toland. She attended Morgan Elementary, Liberty Middle Schools and graduated in 2002 from Hutchinson High School. A lifetime Hutchinson resident, she worked retail sales at Lowe's in Hutchinson.
She was one of Jehovah's Witnesses. She enjoyed international travel, photography, writing short stories and gourmet cooking.
Survivors include: her parents, Loren and Lila Toland, Hutchinson; a sister, Monica Toland, Denver; grandparents, Verla Mandershied, Stafford, and Victor and Nancy Salas, Garden City.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Lee Toland; and great-grandparents, Jesse and Lucy Toland.
Memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 3304 North Severance, Hutchinson, with her uncle, Manuel Salas of Olathe, presiding. There will be no visitation. Private family inurnment will be in Eastside Cemetery.
