Joyce "Joan" Barrett, 86, died April 30, 2022, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. She was born April 8, 1936, in Mason City, IL. to Henry and Mary Louise (Dennis) Lockenhour.

Joan graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1954. She worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone, Tucson Gas and Electric Co and home care for several years. She was an active member of Riverside Baptist Church. On September 21, 1974 she married John E. Barrett Sr. in Hutchinson, KS.

She is survived by: step-sons, John (Shaunda) Barrett, Jerry Barrett, Michael Barrett; step-daughter, Sharon (Randy) Christner; niece, Janet (Cliff) Penner; and nephew David (Helen) Dennis.

Joan is preceded in death by: husband; parents; and Otis and Erma Dennis.

Graveside service will be Tuesday, May 10, 2022, in Peace Valley Cemetery, with Assistant Pastor Trevor Haley presiding. Friends may call Monday, May 9, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.
