Obituary

Joyce Marie Elliott, 78, died May 13, 2017, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. She was born March 26, 1939, in Hutchinson, to Frank Guy and Margaret Marie (Strawn) Sterling. She graduated from Nickerson High School in 1957 and attended Medora Community Bible Church. She was the owner and operator of Health and Herbs and a monitor for Durham Bus Services.

On June 30, 1957, Joyce married Edward Leroy Elliott. He died April 16, 2002.

Survivors include: children, James Dale Elliott, Timothy Elliott and Pamela Marie Elliott (aka Payge Carter); sister, Janice Jensen and husband Richard; brothers, Donald Sterling and Earnest Sterling; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a child, a sister, a brother, and two grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Thursday, May 18, 2017, at Medora Community Bible Church, Medora, with Pastor Travis Heneha presiding. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. with the family to receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Memorial contributions may be made to Joyce Marie Elliott Memorial Fund in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
