NICKERSON - Joyce Jean Hase, 72, died Nov. 21, 2006, at Buhler Sunshine Home.
She was born April 8, 1934, in Hutchinson, the daughter of William E. "Bill" and Doris P. Lanning Griffin. In 1952, she graduated from Nickerson High School. A lifetime resident of the Nickerson community, she was a homemaker, farmer, had worked at Bornholdt Plantland and the Reno County treasurers office.
She belonged to Fairview United Methodist Church, Nickerson. She was also past president of United Methodist Women, a 4-H leader and Central Hustlers, Nickerson.
On April 8, 1954, she married Jerry Dean Hase in Nickerson. He died Oct. 25, 1990.
Survivors include: her mother; two sons and spouses, Larry and Karen, and Kenneth and Dana, all of Hutchinson; a daughter and her husband, Jeannie and Brad Heck, Nickerson; a brother, John Griffin, Nickerson; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Rick Goertzen presiding. Visitation is from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, with the family to receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. at the chapel. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson.
