Joyce Marie Roberson, 82, died Sunday, Nov. 7, 2010, at Hester Care Center.

She was born May 11, 1928, at Medicine Lodge, the daughter of Roland and Gladys Strickland Hewitt.

She was a 1946 graduate of Medicine Lodge High School, attended Fort Hays State University, had been a Faris Elementary PTA president, member of Trinity United Methodist Church and an admissions and cashier clerk at Hutchinson Hospital for almost 20 years, retiring in 1993.

On Aug. 6, 1948, she married Ivan Glenn Roberson in Hutchinson. He died Aug. 3, 1975.

Other survivors include: two sons, Ronald Glenn, Washington, D.C., Jeffrey Paul and wife Anette of Hutchinson; a daughter, Jane Marie and husband Mike Wegener of Denver, Colo.; two grandchildren and a step-granddaughter, Andrew and Jacque Roberson and Tori Wegener. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2010, at Elliott Chapel with the Rev. Pat Ault-Duell and Father Ronald G. Roberson officiating. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson. Friends may call 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 9 a.m. to service time Wednesday, with family present 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary.
