Juanita Frank, 92, died April 13, 2015, at Mennonite Friendship Communities, South Hutchinson. She was born March 7, 1923, in Scott City, the daughter of Nick and Opal B. (Gross) Piros.
She went to school in Scott City and graduated from Scott City High School. She married Raymond A. Frank on May 17, 1941, in Scott City. He died May 27, 1984. They moved to Hutchinson in 1946.
Juanita was a homemaker for the most part, with a few odd jobs along the way. In later years, she worked at the Landmark Hotel in Hutchinson. Her passions were giving, reading, painting and embroidery.
She is survived by: two daughters, Nickie Saunders of Partridge, Ann (Russell) Day of Arlington; four granddaughters, Marquita Fahrney of Newton, Kendra (Robert) Wallace of Hutchinson, Brenda Milner of Kansas City, Mo., Robin Withrow of Ocean Springs, Miss.; 14 great-grandchildren; 15 great great-grandchildren; and a sister, Grace Witt of Salina. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mona Ray Frank; brother, Jimmy Piros; sister, Maria Harrod; two grandsons, Michael Ray Fahrney and Peter Eugene Day; and a great-granddaughter, Nichole Smith.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration service of her life will be 2 p.m. Friday, April 17, 2015, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Chaplain Chase Hill presiding. Her register book will be available to sign until service time.
