Juanita Pearl Hartness died peacefully October 18, 2019, with her very special friend by her side, at Good Samaritan Village-Hutchinson Society.

She was born July 24, 1925, in Tahlequah, OK, the daughter of Buster Brown and Lillian (McKenna) Hartness.

The family moved to Hutchinson when Juanita was very young.  She spent the rest of her 94 years in Hutchinson, retiring from Southwestern Bell after 36 ½ years of service.  Juanita was involved with the Telephone Pioneers, Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP), and past secretary and treasurer for the Iris Club.

She was preceded in death by:  her parents, and brothers, Homer and Irl.

Juanita is survived by: sister-in-law, Eileen; three nephews; one niece; and numerous cousins.

Graveside service will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 23, 2019, at Fairlawn Burial Park, 2401 Carey Blvd.,  Hutchinson.  Friends may sign the book from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary.  The casket will remain closed.  Memorials may be made to Kindred Hospice, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N.
