Juanita Mary Rivera Hernandez, 80, died Dec. 20, 2009, at St. Joseph Hospital, Kansas City.
She was born Aug. 19, 1929, in Lyons, the daughter of Serapio and Casemira Valdez Rivera. A resident of Hutchinson moving from Carson, Calif., in 2005.
Juanita was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
She was married to Juan Hernandez. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include: a sister, Louisa Alonzo and husband Don, Kansas City, Mo.; a sister, Sally Gonzales, Midland, Texas; three nephews, Jerry Alonzo, Thomas Alonzo and Jerome Alonzo; and three nieces, Anita Villalpando, Donette Alonzo and Cynthia Button. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Hernandez.
Parish rosary will be at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2009, and Celebration of Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 24, 2009, both at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, with Father Brian Nelson presiding.
Memorials may be made to Donnelly College or Susan G. Koman for the Cure, in care of Elliott Mortuary.
