Julia Zella Southards' Obituary
Julia Zella Southards, 93, died Dec. 31,2006 at Waldron Place.
She was born August 13, 1913, in Dodge City, the daughter of John and Neonetta Hedrick. She gradusted in 1930, from Havana High School. A longtime Hutchinson resident, she was the manager of the fashion department for Montgomery Ward, managed the Snack Shop at Grace Hospital, then worked in the cafeteria for Hutchinson High School and later at Dairy Queen.
She belonged to First Christian Church, Nickerson.
Survivors include: a son, Jay Coffey, Independence; two daughters, LaVona Schmitt, Hutchinson and Phyllis Scarlett, Wichita; five grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by two brothers, Jerry and Brad Hedrick.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson with Pastor Don Johnson presiding. Visitation will be from non to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Wildmead Cemetery, Nickerson.
