Julita Marie Rumback, 83, died July 25, 2009, at Promise Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson.

She was born May 29, 1926, in Park, Kansas, the daughter of Otto Peter and Julia Anna Mader Weigel. She attended schools in Monument, Kansas. A resident of Hutchinson since 1953, she was a homemaker.

Julita was a member of St. Teresa's Catholic Church, the St. Teresa's Altar Society, and the V.F.W. Bob Campbell Post #1361 Ladies Auxiliary.

On September 18, 1944, she married Walter Rumback in Monument, KS. He died March 7, 1984.

Survivors include: a daughter, Diana M. Strawn and husband Danny; two sons, Pete Rumback, and John Rumback, all of Hutchinson; three brothers, Lawrence Weigel, of Lakewood, Washington, Alvin Weigel of Tucson, Arizona, and Robert Weigel of Oakley; two sisters, Rosalie Burkhead of Lawrence, and Mary Jane Phares of Elgin, Illinois; five grandchildren, Shelly Clark and husband Shawn, Lori Bryant and husband Alan, Amy Wagoner and Tom Strawn, all of Hutchinson, and Hayley Rumback of Alexandria, Virginia; and seven great-grandchildren, Chase and Chance Clark, Alexis and Austin Bryant, Grace Wagoner, and Adison and Brayden Strawn.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Christopher Rumback in April 1968, brothers, Leo, John, and Otto Dean Weigel and a sister Lila Jean Weigel.

Parish Rosary at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, Hutchinson, with a family visitation to follow. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Teresa's Catholic Church, Hutchinson, with Father Nicholas Voelker presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum.
