June Berniece (Kasselman) Schwartz, 92, died February 21, 2019, at Mennonite Friendship Communities. Family and friends will celebrate her life, and that of her late daughter, Jill Sharkey (Cunetto), at a joint memorial service, 11 a.m. Saturday, April 13, 2019, at Journey@South Hutchinson, 808 S. Poplar, South Hutchinson. Jill Schwartz Sharkey (Cunetto), 61, died January 8, 2019, in St. Louis, MO.

June Berniece was born June 5, 1926, in Ellinwood, to Charles and Anna (Malcolm) Kasselman. A 1944 graduate of Partridge High School, she retired from Southwestern Bell/AT&T as an operator and central office clerk, with 33 years of service.

She married Gene Schwartz on February 12, 1948, in Pretty Prairie. He died April 4, 2014. Survivors include: daughter, Cynthia (Michael) Johnston, Wichita; four granddaughters, Alison Sharkey (fiancé, Michael Carroll), Ballwin, MO, Caitlin Sharkey (partner, Chris Cesca), Macomb, IL, Regan Johnston, Phoenix, AZ, Erin Johnston, Prairie Village; son-in-law, James 'Jack' Cunetto, Ballwin, MO; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, June was preceded in death by: brothers, Gerald, Donald, Kenneth, and Wayne Kasselman; sisters, Lorene Johnson, Agnes Duncan, and Marjorie May; and Curtis Sharkey, father of Alison and Caitlin, preceded June and Jill in death.

Private burial for June and Jill will be in the First Mennonite Church Cemetery, rural Pretty Prairie. Friends may sing the book at Elliott Mortuary.

Jill's memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society, Alzheimer's Association, or any animal humane society, all in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 North Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
