J.W. Martin III, 39, of Abilene, died May 2, 2025. He was born February 16, 1986, in Oklahoma City, OK, to J.W. and Donna L. (Myers) Martin Jr.

J.W. graduated from Nickerson High School in 2004 and Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center in 2015. He was a patrol deputy for the Saline County Sheriff's Department for over 10 years. J.W. was a gun and motorcycle enthusiast and enjoyed gaming and collecting eagles and dragons. But most of all, he loved spending time with his family - his daughter, Judy, was the love of his life.

J.W. is survived by: his daughter, Judith Lynn Marie Martin of Abilene; father, J.W. Martin Jr. (Cindy) of Hutchinson; mother, Donna Ivers (Mike) of Moore, OK; brothers, Trevor Yount (Jocelyn) of Lawrence; stepbrothers, Cody Herrin (Deanna) of Hutchinson, Troy Herrin (Sarah) of Bailey, CO; Judith's mother, Auzia Leazer of Abilene, Judith's brother, William; and many extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Brandy Lynn Martin.

Cremation has taken place and private family services will be held.
