Karen L. French, 68, died Oct. 7, 2008, at Promise Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson.
She was born Oct. 30, 1939, in Harper, the daughter of Paul "Dutch" and Helen Thatcher Wohlschlegel. She graduated from Harper High School in 1957.
She was an Interior Home Decorator for Schmidt's Paint and Wallpaper and Northgate Home Furnishings, she also worked at Dillons on 14th and Main. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, all in Hutchinson.
Survivors include: a son, Kim A. Compton, Hutchinson; and a daughter, Kari Compton-Sylvis and husband Kent, Carrollton, Texas; two sisters, Margaret Botkin, Argonia, and Marilyn Krug, Wichita; four grandchildren, April N. Compton, Alisha A. Compton, Alaura K. Sylivs and Christian E. Sylvis; and three great-granddaughters. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral 10 a.m. Oct. 11 at Elliot Chapel, Elliot Mortuary, Hutchinson, with Pastor Eldon Smith presiding. Friends may sign the book 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the mortuary Friday. Burial will be in Harper Cemetery.
