Karen Eileen Manche, 73, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012.
She was born in Enid, Oklahoma, on Oct. 19, 1938, the daughter of Wilbur and Opal Secord Rayner.
She was a 1956 graduate of Gore High School in Oklahoma and later graduated from McPherson School of Nursing. She loved being an emergency room nurse at Bethel Deaconess Hospital in Newton and volunteering for the Burrton Ambulance Department. She retired in 1985 to work in the antique business with her husband.
On March 21, 1969, she married Terry Allen Manche, Sr., in Newton. He survives.
Other survivors include: their children and spouses, Chris and James Cunningham, Houston, Texas, J.R. Manche, Denver, Colo., Lisa Hiebert, Phoenix, Ariz., Kenny and Pam Manche, Sandy and Jerry Bowlby, Dana Butler, Ava Manche, all of Hutchinson, Leslie and Chris Holmgren, Wichita, Jody and Brad Glenister, Clovis, N.M.; a brother, John and Wilma Rayner, Wakita, Okla.; sister-in-law, Kim Rayner, Las Vegas, Nev.; mother-in-law, Dorothy Osborn, Hutchinson. She had 22 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Wayne Seiler and two brothers, Wesley and Lyndon Rayner.
Karen lived life to the fullest and loved to travel with her husband. She will be greatly missed.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, March 1, 2012, at Elliott Chapel, with Pastor Melvin Parrott officiating. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary and Crematory.
Memorial gifts may be made to Hospice House, Hutchinson or Cause for P.A.W.S., in care of the mortuary.
