Karin McHenry, 79, died November 20, 2023, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita. She was born February 29, 1944, in Schwerin-Mecklenburg, Germany, to Heinz and Erna (Helms) Schultz.

Karin completed high school and business school in Germany. She was a homemaker and gardening was her favorite past time. Karin loved to be in nature, traveling, cooking, and reading.

On April 20, 1966, she married Charles Allen McHenry, in Aschaffenburg, Germany. They shared 57 years of marriage.

Karin is survived by: husband, Charles McHenry, Hutchinson; daughter, Dawn E. McHenry, Hutchinson; son Robert A. McHenry, Stafford; grandson, Charles McHenry, Hutchinson; granddaughter, Shyla McHenry, Florida; brother, Uwe Schultz (Erika), Germany; many nieces, nephews, cousins; and a grand-dog, Frankie.

She is preceded in death by: her parents; stepfather, Alois Nemetz; and brother, Erich Schultz.

Karin selflessly chose to be a donor to the University of Kansas Body Donation Program.

Friends may sign the book from 9 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday at Elliott Mortuary.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
