Kasandra "Kassie" Leigh Hooten-Brown, 30, died Nov. 18, 2016, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. She was born Aug. 16, 1986, in Gainesville, Fla., to Keith and Tracy (Griffis) Hooten.
Kassie graduated from Palatka High School in 2006 and attended St. Johns River State College. She worked in the deli department at Dillons on 5th and Adams. Kassie was full of life and loved spending time with her family and friends.
On Feb. 15, 2015, she married Kyle W. Brown in Palatka, Fla. Kassie is survived by: husband, Kyle of the home; daughter, Kaci Brown of Hutchinson; father, Keith Hooten of Junction City; mother, Tracy Dowling and husband Stacey of Hawthorne, Fla.; brother, Steven Kelley and wife Alicia of Palatka, Fla.; sisters, Carrie Abdo and husband Jonathan of Leesville, La., Kristen Raffield of Dublin, Ga.; grandparents, Lawrence Griffis, Patricia Osborn and husband Edward, Inge Hooten, Robert Dowling and wife Debra, Patrick Brickhouse and wife Cora; four nieces; and a nephew. She was preceded in death by grandparents, Robert Hooten, Mitchell Johnson, and Brenda Dowling.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 21, 2016, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Betty Pinkston officiating.
