Kathrine Ruth Yager, beloved wife, mom and friend, 60, died Oct. 4, 2010, at Hospice House, Hutchinson.
She was born Oct. 7, 1949, to Albert Gerald and Lucille June Knapp Breitung.
She worked for Reno County Youth Shelter for eight years. She graduated from Pepin High School in 1968. She was a member of the Hutchinson Kennel Club since March of 2002 where she was a basic obedience instructor, a canine good citizen evaluator, a therapy dog tester/observer, and director of the Therapy Dog Program. Kathy was awarded the first ever AKC Sportsmanship Award by the HKC board in 2007.
She married Royce Lee Yager on Oct. 31, 1979. He survives with her mother; three brothers, Albert T. Breitung of Guthrie, Okla., Bertram S. Breitung of Willowcreek, Texas, and Wade A. Breitung of Brownwood, Texas; two sisters, Tamera J. Raditz-Breitung of Nelson, Wis., and Debborrah A. Foster-Breitung of Guthrie, Okla.; and stepchildren, Stephanie and Mike of Auburn, Kan. She was preceded in death by her father; sister, Brenda Breitung; and nephew, T.J. Nelson.
Memorial service is 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 14, 2010, at Hutchinson Kennel Club, 500 N. Grand St., Hutchinson.
