Obituary

Kathryn L. Barnes, 75, of Hutchinson, died March 20, 2011, at Dillon Living Center.

She was born July 6, 1935, at Atlanta, Kan., the daughter of Esley H. and Inez A. Satterlee Barnes.

She graduated from Bushton High School in 1953 and business college in Colorado Springs, Colo. in 1958. She was a United States Air Force veteran and was a member of the Emanuel Lutheran Church in Hutchinson. She was a member of Women in Military Service and a former member of the American Legion. She lived in Liberal for many years before moving to Hutchinson and was a retired credit manager for Clingan Tire in Liberal.

Survivors include: sons, Keith Barnes, Alexandria, Va., and Paul K. Barnes, Mesquite, Texas; brothers, James L. Barnes (Donna), Dodge City, Lawrence Barnes (Bernice), Ellinwood, and Larry Barnes (Pamila), Yukon, Okla.; and a sister, Louise Cruth, Lafayette, La. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Bobby L. Barnes.

Cremation has taken place and no local services are planned. Inurnment will be at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery.
