Kathryn Leona "Katie" Mitchell, 91, died Oct. 11, 2016, at Mennonite Friendship Com-munities, South Hutchinson. She was born May 30, 1925, in Inman, to Heinrich D. and Katrina (Regehr) Wiens.

She was a member of 10th Ave. United Methodist Church, Hutchinson, worked as a Dillons Delicatessen for 18 years, and a homemaker.

On Feb. 22, 1948, Katie married Delbert Marlin Mitchell. He died Dec. 14, 2001. Survivors include: daughters, Brenda White and husband Jim of Buhler, Barbara Detter and husband Brad of Sterling; son, Dean Mitchell of Little River; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters, Susie Mitchell of McPherson, Elizabeth Warkentine and husband Gene of Hutchinson; brother, Edwin Wiens of Hutchinson. She was preceded in death by: her parents; sisters, Mary Ann Froese, Ella Hamel, and Helen Willems; brothers, Ernie, Wilber, and Alvin Wiens; and great-grandson, Gage Johnston.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 14, 2016, at Mennonite Friendship Communities Chapel with Pastor Lou Gomez presiding. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson.
