Kathy Jane Smith, 65, of Hutchinson, died November 18, 2019, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. She was born February 4, 1954, in Manila, Arkansas, to Henry and Helen Louise (Walters) Ewing.

Kathy was a CNC machinist at Eaton Corporation and retired with over 40 years of service. She enjoyed playing Bunco and doing any type of craft project, but her family and their activities were the things that brought her the most joy.

On November 23, 2002, Kathy married Max Curtis Smith in Inman. He died July 9, 2017.

She is survived by: daughter, Belitha (Bret) Elmore of Moundridge; son, Billy (Kendra) Taber of Hutchinson; stepdaughter, Brenda Grant; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and three siblings.

Kathy was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Max C. Smith; one grandson; and four siblings.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, November 23, 2019, at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson, with Pastor John Wallace officiating. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Elliott Mortuary.
