Kathy Sue Vollnogel, 64, of Hutchinson, died May 18, 2023, at Hutchinson Health and Rehab. She was born February 22, 1959, in Hutchinson, to William D. and Ruby L. (Stapleton) Chronister.

Kathy graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1977 and attended Hutchinson Community College. She worked in medical records and as a CNA at Sunshine Meadows Retirement Community in Buhler for over 26 years. Kathy was an avid reader and loved music of all kinds.

She is survived by: her children, Ricky 'Rick' Vollnogel Jr. (Megan) of Hutchinson, Julie Vollnogel (Aaron Dennett) of McPherson, Andrew Vollnogel of Hutchinson, John Vollnogel of Hutchinson; granddaughters, Rhiannon and Meadow and their mother Brandi; mother, Ruby Chronister of Hutchinson; sister, Chris Hoffman (Bill) of Hutchinson; nieces, Beth Edwards (Dave) and Erin Wheeler (Charles); and many extended family members.

Kathy was preceded in death by: her father; grandson, Andrew Vollnogel Jr.; nephew, James Vollnogel, and her children's father, Ricky Vollnogel Sr.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, June 1, 2023, at Elliott Chapel. The service will be livestreamed and the link below to view it will be active at 1:45 p.m. the day of the service.
