Sharon Kay Beck, 78, of Hutchinson, passed away June 4, 2021, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita. She was born October 16, 1942, in Hutchinson, to Kenny 'Bud' and Kathleen (VanZandt) Barnhart.

Kay graduated from Buhler High School, Hutchinson Community College, and received her Bachelor's degree in business administration from McPherson College. She was the secretary at Buhler High School until the family moved to Las Vegas, NV. There, Kay worked as a clerical assistant for the Bureau of Reclamation. The family returned to Hutchinson in 2005.

Kay loved to cook and bake. She enjoyed collecting angel figurines. Kay was a member of Union Valley Bible Church.

In 1962, she married Lyle E. 'Sonny' Beck, in Hutchinson. They shared 43 years of marriage before his death on November 10, 2005.

Kay is survived by: her sons, Michael Beck (Brenda) of Albuquerque, NM, Neal Beck (Wendy) of Las Vegas, NV, Brad Beck (Tracy) of Hutchinson; sister, Sue Stevens; brother, Bill Barnhart (Anita); sister-in-law, Sherry Barnhart, all of Hutchinson; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family members.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; brother, Ron Barnhart; and brother-in-law, Duane Stevens.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 24, 2021, at Elliott Chapel. The family will greet friends from 9:30 a.m. to service time. Inurnment will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may sign the memorial book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday - Saturday at Elliott Mortuary.
