Paulson

Kay Gloria Paulson, 81, died January 14, 2019, at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice Center, Wichita. She was born May 16, 1937, in Moundridge, to J.E. and Mildred D. (Weller) Steele. Kay graduated from McPherson High School, Salt City Business College and attended Kansas State University. Kay enjoyed the outdoor life, gardening, bird watching, reading, and was an avid K-State fan. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday school. Kay generously gave to all Reno County charities and organizations, such as Interfaith Housing and United Way.
On February 10, 1960, she married John R. Paulson in Hutchinson. In 1962, John and Kay started Gravel Products Inc. After adding a concrete plant in 1986, the name was changed to Gravel & Concrete Inc. She tirelessly ran the office with a strong will, and yet made friends of everyone.
Kay is survived by: husband, John; daughter, Renee Frazier and husband Earnest of McPherson; sons, Loren Paulson and Lisa of Nickerson, Lon Paulson and wife Susan of Wilmington, North Carolina, Lyle Paulson and wife Cris of Hutchinson; granddaughters, Brandy Keane, Kayla and Cassie Paulson; grandsons, Eric Frazier and fiancée Erin Seal, Aaron Frazier and girlfriend Molly Whitwell, London, Luke, and Lincoln Paulson; great-grandsons, Trenton and Brayden Keane, Jayden Frazier; brother, Julius Steele of McPherson; sister, Lynn Nichols of Topeka; brother-in-law, Donald Lundquist and wife Dixie of Marquette; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, sister, Pat Lundquist and great-grandson, Brydon Keane.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, January 26, 2019, at Elliott Chapel. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Elliott Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to your favorite local charity, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.05/16/
