Obituary

Keith L. Christner, 84, died Feb. 17, 2015, at his home in Hutchinson. He was born Feb. 24, 1930, in Emporia, to George D. and Helen L. (Weathers) Lintecum. When he was six years old, he was adopted by Harry and Elva Christner.

Keith graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1948, Hutchinson Community College in 1950, and attended Emporia State University and Sterling College. Keith was a member of First Christian Church, Kiwanis Club, and American Legion Lysle Rishel Post #68.

On Sept. 2, 1951, he married Marilyn Joyce Slabach in Hutchinson. She survives. Other survivors include: children, Michael Christner of Sellersburg, Ind., Rex Christner and wife Terry of Hutchinson, Keith Christner and wife Julie of Garden City, Jay Christner and wife Donna of Augusta, Kathy Carroll and husband Jamie, and Cindy Adcock and husband Jeremy, all of Hutchinson; brother, Rex Christner of Aberdeen, Wash.; sister, Sharon Seymour (Ruick) of Long Beach, Calif.; 19 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Keith was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 20, 2015, at First Christian Church, 15 E. 5th Ave., Hutchinson, with Pastor Bob Phipps officiating. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 1 to 4 Thursday at Elliott Mortuary with family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at First Christian Church.
