Keith A. Peters, 65, died January 10, 2012 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, IA. He was born January 3, 1947 to Tillman and Beulah Christine Barr Peters in Ransom, Ks.

He was a 1965 graduate of Utica High School and attended Greer Automotive Technical School. He was a lifetime farmer and avid gardener retired U.S. Postal Service and served in the United States Army.

Survivors include a daughter, Melanie Deterding and husband Brian, Whitewater, KS; brother Bruce Peters and wife Linda, Lakin KS; two grandsons Brady and Brock Deterding and three nephews and two nieces. He was preceded in death by parents and a brother Bryce Scott Peters.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 16, 2012 at Elliott Mortuary with Pastor Karen Dalke presiding. Graveside service will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Utica Cemetery in Utica, KS. Visitation will be Saturday and Sunday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Keith A. Peter's memorial fund, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
