Darren Kelly McMurphy, 58, of Hutchinson, died February 14, 2022, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born February 26, 1963, in Sterling, to Duane L. "Tiny" and Janalyn K. (Hodgson) McMurphy.

Kelly graduated from Sterling High School in 1981 and the University of Kansas School of Architecture in 1986. He was an architect and owner/partner of Landmark Architects and Engineers for over 35 years. Kelly was a devoted husband and father. He loved animals, especially dogs, and tinkering in his shop on old trucks and tractors. Kelly enjoyed exploring old back roads and visiting antique shops with his wife, Patti. He was a member of Union Valley Bible Church.

On June 1, 1991, Kelly married Patti Dickey in Hutchinson. She survives.

Also surviving are: son, Mason McMurphy (Danielle) of Spring Hill; daughter, Haley McMurphy of Hutchinson; uncle, Roger Hodgson of Hutchinson; aunt, Patsy McMurphy of Sterling; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Chuck and Dollie Dickey of Hutchinson; beloved dogs, Willow, Aspen, Holly; and numerous extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Monday, February 21, at CrossPoint Church, 1410 E. 30 ^th , Hutchinson, with Pastor Steve Hodgson officiating. Inurnment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends may sign his memorial book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday to Sunday, with the family present to receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, at Elliott Mortuary.
