Kenneth "Kenny" Addison, 86, died Feb. 3, 2008, at Pleasant View Home, Inman.

He was born April 2, 1921, in Newcastle Neb., the son of Dean and Frances Smith Addison. He was a graduate of the Souix City Iowa High School and attended Business College in Souix City. A Hutchinson resident since 1957, he owned and operated Al-Char Bowling Lanes in Hutchinson, and Riverside Bowling Lanes in South Hutchinson. He was retired from Cessna, manager of the shipping and receiving dept.

He belonged to the American Legion Lysle Rishel Post No. 68, Loyal Order of the Moose No. 982.

He was a U.S. veteran serving during World War II. He was a B-24 Pilot. During the Korean Conflict he flew B-29s and then flew RB-47s for the Strategic Air Command, stationed in Thule, Greenland.

On April 10, 1943, he married Mildred L. "Millie" Lee, in Muskogee, Okla. She died Jan. 16, 2003.

Survivors include: three daughters, Nancy Grider, Hutchinson, Julie Frey, Balboa Island, Calif., and Dianna "DeDe" Gillespie, Tualatin, Oregon; two grandchildren, Sara Grider, Riverside, Calif., and Molly Grider, Hutchinson.

He was preceded in death by a brother, George.

Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Chaplain Scott Watford presiding. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and Wednesday at the Mortuary. Cremation was selected. Military graveside service will be conducted by McConnell Air Force Base Honor Guard, at Fairlawn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Hospice Care of Kansas, in care of the Mortuary.
