Kenneth R. "Ken" Eckrote, Jr., 90, passed away December 26, 2024, at Hester Care Center- Wesley Towers in Hutchinson, KS.  He was born February 1, 1934, to Kenneth and Catherine (Connell) Eckrote, Sr., in Darby, PA.

Ken graduated from Lyons Township High School, LaGrange, IL, in 1952 and from the University of Illinois with a bachelor's degree in mining engineering in 1957. He worked as a project engineer for Morton Salt Division- Morton International, Inc. for 30 years before retiring.

On May 16, 1959, he married Mary "Fifi" Carter in Heidelburg, West Germany.  They celebrated over 65 years together.  She survives.

Other survivors include: son, Richard (Evonne) Eckrote of Wichita; daughters, Archer (David) Jarrett and Catherine (Don) Stillings of Hutchinson; granddaughters, Elizabeth Eckrote and Raleigh and Sydney Jarrett; and sister, Lynn Schelp of Quincy, IL.

He was preceded in death by: his parents and grandson, Benjamin Eckrote.

Cremation has taken place.  There will be a private family inurnment.
