Kenneth 'Kenny' Eugene Mathis, 60, of Hutchinson, died June 28, 2017, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. He was born June 25, 1957, in Hutchinson, the son of Eugene Lee and Dorene (Morgan) Mathis. Kenneth graduated from Nickerson High School in 1976. He was a crew chief for Reno County Public Works and retired after 28 years.
He is survived by: his daughters, Jennifer Kropf and husband Chad, and Janet Woolsey and husband Tim, both of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Adalynn and Elam Kropf, and Vaden Woolsey; mother, Dorene Morgan and husband Jack of South Hutchinson; father, Eugene Mathis and wife Sandy of Hutchinson; brother, Dan Mathis and wife Pam of Hutchinson; sister, Cindy Estes and husband Mark of South Hutchinson; companion, Susan Keazer of Hutchinson; and many loving extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Cremation has taken place.
A memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 7, 2017, at New Life Church of the Nazarene, 200 E. Campbell, Hutchinson, with Pastor Gary Worthington and Pastor Richard Leffel presiding. Friends may sign the memorial book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday through Thursday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until service time at New Life Church of the Nazarene.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice House or Cancer Council of Reno County, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
