Obituary

Kenneth Wayne Love, 87, died Jan. 11, 2008, at Hutchinson Hospital.

He was born Oct. 1, 1920, in Vinland, the son of the Rev. Vernie Delbert and Mollie Deay Love. He graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1940, and attended Hutchinson JUCO, he played basketball and football at both schools. A lifetime resident of Hutchinson, he was a salesman for Jones O'Neal, Chick's Famous Brand Shoes, and The Bootery.

He belonged to the Church of God, and was a former member of the American Legion Lysle Rishel Post No. 68. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a TEC 3, in the Pacific Theater.

On Aug. 19, 1944, he married Rosemary A. Debruler. She survives.

Other survivors include: a son, Jeffrey, Hutchinson; a daughter, Kay Love Duncan, Austin, Texas; a sister, Beverly Love-Hetzel and husband Eldon, Wichita; and two grandchildren, Deverel and Hannah Rose Duncan.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Homer Leo, Dale, and Keith "Doc" Love.

Cremation has taken place. Private family service will be held at a later date in Penwell Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson. Friends may sign the register from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary Hutchinson.

Memorials may be sent to Interfaith Housing, First Call for Help, or the Salvation Army, all in care of the mortuary.
