Obituary

Kenneth D. "Hog Rider" Harding, 81, died July 30, 2014, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born May 15, 1933, in Nickel Town, Kan., to Glen C. and Clara (McDaniel) Harding.

Ken graduated from Yates Center High School in 1951. He worked for Dillons as a truck driver. Ken enjoyed playing pool and games with his friends. He never met a stranger that didn't become a friend and would enjoy visiting and talking with people. He was a member of the Windy Acres Motorcycle Club and Silver Spurs Square Dancing Club. He attended First United Methodist Church.

On May 27, 1966, he married Shirley A. Hibler in Newton. She preceded him in death on May 8, 2007.

Ken is survived by his son, David Harding and wife Camille, grandchildren, Dakota and Mackenzie Harding, all of Wichita; sisters, Donna Riley and husband Gerald of Wichita, Lorraine Dutro of Arizona; and companion, Lois Veatch of Hutchinson. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Franklin Harding; and a sister, Maxine Herman.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 2, 2014, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Pastor Jeff Slater officiating. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson. Friends may call 1 to 9 p.m. with family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the mortuary.
