Kenneth R. Rue
Kenneth R. Rue, 76, died March 14, 2013, at Golden Plains Health Care Center. He was born Jan. 18, 1937, at Burrton, to John R. and Dorothy L. (Anderson) Rue.
He served in the U.S. Navy from 1955-59 and was a former member of the Sons of the American Legion. Kenneth was an oil pumper, worked at Morton Salt and was in maintenance at Buhler High School.
On Nov. 6, 1955, he married Doris Thomas in Plainville. She survives. Other survivors include: son, Richard Rue of Hutchinson; two daughters, Peggy Fry and husband Rod of Yoder, and Penny Becker and husband Mark of Hutchinson; five grandsons, Brad Fry (Ada) of Yoder, Tanner Rue, Michael Becker, Dylan Becker, all of Hutchinson, Jordan Geist and wife Julie of Dallas, Texas; granddaughter, Rachelle McKay and husband Shannon of Jacksonville, Fla.; two brothers, John W. Rue of Hutchinson, and Robert Rue and wife Sue of Hutchinson; sister-in-law, Roberta Rue of Missouri; and three great-grandchildren. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, William Rue.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at First Congregational Church, 3420 N. Plum, Hutchinson, with Chaplain Bob Phipps officiating. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday through Monday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
