Kenneth R. Southards' Obituary
Kenneth R. Southards, 70, died May 29, 2008, at his home in Hutchinson.
He was born Feb. 3, 1938, in the Trousdale Hotel, Trousdale, son of Walter F. Southards Sr. and Alta Ellis Southards. He was a 1956 graduate of Belpre High School and attended Pratt Community College. He worked at Morton Salt Co. as well as Hutchinson Community College. He was the owner of Southards Plumbing Co. He served in the U.S. Army in Korea.
On Feb. 28, 1961, he married Anita Sloan in Ft. Monmouth, N.J. She survives.
Other survivors include: daughters, Karen and Glen Duran, Buhler, Laurie and Jeff Moody, Hutchinson, Kathleen Southards, Hutchinson; brothers, Ron, So. Hutchinson, Walter Jr., Valley Center, Bruce, Partridge; sisters, Janet Bibbs and Sharon Yoder, Hutchinson; grandchildren, Erik and Kristina Sanburn, Mikey and Dylan Moody, Jacob, Joshua and Emily Duran; great-grandchildren, Levi, Martean and Hayden Perez.
He was preceded in death by his sister Betty Robinson.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no services. Memorials may be sent to Hutchinson Public Library in care of Elliott Mortuary.
