Kenneth A. Thornhill, 96, died June 9, 2010, at Hospice House.
He was born Feb. 23, 1914, in Halstead to Samuel Ellis and Alice Jane Harshfield Thornhill.
He retired as owner/operator of Careyville Grocery.
Kenneth was a member of the Hutchinson-Reno Masonic Lodge #124 A.F. & A.M. He served in the Civil Conservation Corps in 1934, stationed in Minnesota. He was an avid baseball card collector and KU basketball fan.
On September 18, 1937 he married Farrie Bell Blue in Wichita. She died October 30, 2000.
Survivors include: daughter, Judy Mann; grandson, Dean Mann, both of Hutchinson; granddaughter, Diane Lyon, LaGrange, Ky.; six great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by: five brothers, Marion, Ellis, Dale, Joe, Evan; two sisters, Muriel and Eunice.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, June 12, 2010, in Fairlawn Burial Park, with Pastor Bob Yates officiating. Masonic graveside rites conducted by Hutchinson-Reno Masonic Lodge #124 A. F. & A. M. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at Elliott Mortuary.
