Obituary

Kenneth Wayne Tidwell, 69, of Hutchinson, died October 18, 2021, at Hospice House. He was born June 28, 1952, in Garden City, to Henry Lawrence and Dorothy (Ritter) Tidwell.

Kenneth served in the United States Army from 1970 to 1978 and was deployed to Vietnam. He worked as a carpenter and handyman at the Holiday Inn and its successive occupants for many years. Kenneth loved spending time with his family, NASCAR, and woodworking. He was of the Lutheran faith.

On December 28, 1997, Kenneth married Ronda Hefner in Tucson, AZ. She survives.

Also surviving are: daughters, Amy Barth and husband Robert of Tucson, AZ, Kenna Solorzano and husband Richard of Tampa, FL; stepdaughter, Lauren Foust Hefner of Spokane, WA; grandchildren, R.J. Barth, Cora and Evan Solorzano, Kyan Foust Hefner; sister, Shari Lutz and husband Steve of Nickerson; sisters-in-law, Ruth Tidwell of Corinth, TX, Vickie Tidwell of Overland Park; nephews, Erik and Alex Lutz, Marshall and Paul Tidwell; niece, Trisha Stout; and many other extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Greg and Michael.

Cremation has taken place and no services are planned. Memorials are suggested to Kenneth W. Tidwell memorial fund, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
