Kerren Marlene Krehbiel, 79, passed away March 2, 2018, at her home. She was born May 30, 1938, in Kingman, to Elmer C. and Tillie A. (Albrecht) Ewy. Kerren graduated from Kingman High School in 1958, and was a retired housekeeper at Mennonite Friendship Communities. She was a member of First Mennonite Church of Hutchinson and the Gideons Auxiliary. Kerren was active in church sewing and quilting groups and the Kansas Mennonite Relief Sale.

On May 12, 1961, she married Merlin R. Krehbiel in Kingman. He survives.

Other survivors include: daughters, Janet McGillivary (Larry) of Manhattan, KS, Joni Jantz (Allen) of Newton; son, Mike Krehbiel (Kris) of Pretty Prairie; grandchildren, Kylie Jantz, Dylan Jantz, Amber Krehbiel; sister, Virginia Graber (Reed) of Pretty Prairie; brothers, Virgil Ewy (Alana) of Derby, Richard Holladay of Kingman; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Kerren was preceded in death by her parents and stepfather, Roscoe Holladay.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday, March 9, 2018, at First Mennonite Church, 52 Rambler Road, Hutchinson, with Pastors Tonya Ramer Wenger and Nathan Koontz officiating. Inurnment will follow in the church columbarium. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday through Thursday at Elliott Mortuary, with the family to receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Mennonite Friendship Communities Chapel, and one hour prior to service time Friday at the church. Memorials are suggested to Gideons International, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
