Kerry Jolene Watson, 52, died Oct. 12, 2015, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. She was born June 26, 1963, to Milton Wayne "Nick" and Sylvia Jo (Wellbrock) Sherfick in WaKeeney, Kan. She was a 1981 graduate of Trego Community High School and went on to Brown Macke College in Salina. Kerry was the Communications Director for Mid Kansas Co-op for 9 years and also worked for Sirloin Stockade Corporate offices.
Kerry attended Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. She loved spending time with her two sons and extended family, going to dirt track car races, George Strait concerts (17 to be exact), country music concerts, and annual road trips with her girlfriends.
Survivors include: sons, Christopher Benisch and wife Hannah of Olathe, and Jason Benisch and wife Mishaun of Inman; one grandchild on the way; significant other and life partner, Greg Herrell of Hutchinson; his children, Lindsay Rayl and husband J.P., and Kelsey Sanderson and husband Eric, Cayden Herrell; Greg's grandchildren, Maddie, Ivy and Remy Jo Rayl, Steven and Gracie Sanderson; twin brother, Terry Sherfick and wife Angie; brother, Jerry Sherfick and wife Melissa; sister, Sherri Kuntz all of WaKeeney; numerous nephews and one niece. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Parish rosary will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 16, 2015, with Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m., at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, South Hutchinson, with Father Ned J. Blick presiding. Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, 2015, in WaKeeney City Cemetery, WaKeeney, Kan., with Father Charles Steier presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, with the family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Memorials may be made to McPherson County Community Foundation Women and Children's Cancer Fund, Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Inman Community Foundation or Hospice House, all in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N.
