Kitty Colleen Brandt, 65, died Friday March 6, 2015, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. She was born September 21, 1949, at Concordia, the daughter of Lloyd Thomas and Veda Cyr Murphy.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church, had been a co-owner of Singleton-Joyce Optical and an administrative assistant at Horizons Mental Health Center for 15 years, retiring in 2014.

On February 11, 1967, she married James McKenzie Brandt in Hutchinson. He died May 29, 2009. Survivors include: three sons, Troy and Michael (Laurie Castor) of Hutchinson, and Shawn (Wendi) of Olathe; a brother, Douglas Murphy of Hutchinson; and three grandchildren, Tyler, Payton and Alexis Brandt. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Connie Rife.

Graveside service will be at 1 p.m., Tuesday, March 10, 2015, in Penwell Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson, with Chaplain Amy Claassen presiding. Her register book will be available Sunday and Monday with family present 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
