Obituary

Koloma I. Wiens, 90, died May 16, 2013, at Sunshine Meadows Retirement Community, Buhler. She was born May 3, 1923, in Hutchinson. Koloma was a secretary at Hutchinson National Bank and Beltone Hearing Aid Center. She was a Kansas State Volunteer Ombudsman.

On Dec. 13, 1942, she married William "Bill" Wiens in Meade. He died Aug. 11, 1985. Survivors include: daughter, Sue Woods, Liberty, Mo.; three sons, Bill Wiens and wife Helga, Sttetfeld, Germany, John Wiens and wife Michelle, Hutchinson, Bob Wiens, Hutchinson; sister, Patty Nevius, Hutchinson; and four grandchildren, Katy Marcis and husband Richard, John Woods, Sarah and Jessica Wiens. Koloma was preceded in death by: her father, Valentine Pitts; mother, Gladys Murry; and son-in-law, Leroy Woods.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Monday, June 24, 2013, at Elliott Chapel with the Rev. Dr Kim Biery officiating. Private inurnment will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum. Friends may sign the book at Elliott Mortuary. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, Delos V. Smith Senior Center or American Macular Degeneration Foundation, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
