Kristen E. Jacobs, 59, died April 27, 2012, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center, St. Francis, Wichita. She was born July 3, 1952, in Kansas City, Mo., the daughter of William and Vina (Springer) Rhule.

She graduated from Holton High School in 1970 and attended Highland Community College and Washburn University. Kristen was a financial planning assistant with Ameriprise Financial, Hutchinson, and had worked at Jarred, Gilmore and Phillips Accounting in Chanute, prior to moving to Hutchinson. She also worked part-time, alongside her husband, at Elliott Mortuary. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the Hutchinson Community College Quarterback Club. Kristen was an avid sports fan and a KU fanatic.

On April 7, 1972, she married Gene Williams. They later divorced. On Dec. 22, 2004, she married James G. Jacobs in Topeka. He survives. Other survivors include: a daughter, Shelby Patch and husband Troy of Holton; three stepchildren, Fletcher Jacobs and wife Courtney of Westminster, Colo., Spencer Jacobs and wife Jenny of Westmoreland, Kan., and Mallory Jacobs of Manhattan, Kan.; two brothers, Bill Rhule and wife Jane of Lewisville, Texas and Dan Rhule and wife Susan of Holton, Kan.; a sister, Kathi Gray and husband David of Katy, Texas; and her two grandchildren-the loves of her life-Bryson and Macey Patch. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at Trinity United Methodist Church, with Reverends Jim Rhaesa and Pat Ault-Duell presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, with family to receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary. Graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 2, 2012, at the Holton Cemetery, Holton, Kan.
