Obituary

Kurt R. Beougher, 50, died Jan. 2, 2009, as a result of an accident.

He was born Jan. 6, 1958, in Kansas City, the son of Clifford E. and Pharis May Kistler Beougher. He graduated in 1977, from Pittsburg High School, and in 1993, from Labette Community College. A resident of Hutchinson for 15 years, moving from Pittsburg, he was a retired firefighter and EMT serving for 15 years in Pittsburg, and most recently had been a golf course groundskeeper for several golf courses, including Willowbrook, the Highlands and Cottonwood Hills, all of Hutchinson, and Cherry Hills, Cheney.

He belonged to the First United Methodist Church, Pittsburg, and the Reno County Catbackers.

On Sept. 20, 1980, he married Debra Lynn England in Hutchinson. She survives. Other survivors include: his mother, Lenexa; a sister, Jill and Gary Thomas, Olathe, and their children, Clifton Thomas, Irving, Texas, and Sydney Thomas, Coppell, Texas; mother-in-law, Maxine England; sister-in-law, Beverly and Harold Stauffer, and their children, Patti and Robert Kennedy, Amy and Jim Theis, all of Hutchinson, and Kay and John Alexander, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; sisters-in-law, Margaret England, Hutchinson, and Jane and Charles Yunker, Derby, and their son, Andy and Anjie Ra-mirez, Hutchinson; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Clifford.

Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2009, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Rick Wheeler presiding. Friends may sign the register from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to service time Wednesday at the mortuary. Inurnment will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Huntsville.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Hutchinson Animal Shelter or the Hutchinson Boys and Girls Club in care of the mortuary.
