Larry Elmer Adelhardt, 51, died May 9, 2013, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born July 4, 1961, in Hutchinson, the son of Ron and Pat Landwehr Adelhardt. He graduated in 1979, from Haven High School and Hutchinson Community College in 1983. Larry owned his own business, Adelhardt Contracting, and also worked for the City of Partridge maintenance. He was a volunteer firefighter for District 4, in the Arlington and Partridge area, was a substitute bus driver for Partridge Grade School, and he enjoyed farming very much.

On December 15, 1984, he married Jackie Leann Gehring at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church where they are still members.

He is survived by: his wife, Jackie, and seven children, Sara and fiancé Kelly Britton of Hutchinson, Katie of Oakley, Larry and fiancée Jenifer Briggs of Hays, and John, Abby, Joseph, and Laurissa, all of the home; parents, Ron and Pat Adelhardt of Partridge; father-in-law, Jake Gehring of Buhler; two sisters, Cindy Hertel and husband Joe of Ellis, and Ronna Schultz and husband Doug of Grainfield; a brother, Dan Adelhardt and wife Debi of Wichita; and three grandchildren, Cody, Jayci and Kellyn.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Rachel Elizabeth, and his mother-in-law, Emma Gehring.

Parish rosary will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, South Hutchinson. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday May 15, 2013, celebrated by Father Ned J. Blick. Burial will be in Partridge Cemetery. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
