Larry Gene Boyer, 62, died Jan. 4, 2006, in his home, Hutchinson.

He was born April 19, 1943, in Ponca City, the son of Leroy and Wilma Williamson Boyer. His early days were spent around Arkansas City. He graduated from Arkansas City High School in 1961.

On Aug. 28, 1963, he put on Christ in baptism. A single decision, which affected the rest of his life.

On Dec. 27, 1963, he married Floy Henderson. She survives. They shared their lives faithfully until death parted them. They ministered side by side to several churches of Christ in the Kansas area. He also impacted numerous young lives during his 17-year tenure at Hutchinson Community College, where he taught several classes and sponsored Christian Fellowship.

Survivors include: four children, Deborah Boverie and husband Brian, Greeley, Colo., David Boyer and wife, Tonia, Lubbock, Texas, Dana Boyer, Hutchinson and Darren Boyer, Brighton, Colo.; five grandchildren, Caitlin, Colton and Collin Boverie, Greeley, Colo., and Tyler and Brooklyn Boyer, Lubbock, Texas; mother-in-law, Wanda Henderson, Arkansas City; six siblings, Pat Annis, Conley, Ga., Darrell Boyer, Ramona Burr, Terry Boyer and Wanda Ford, all of Arkansas City and Timothy Boyer, Oklahoma.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Eastwood Church of Christ, 2500 N. Plum, Hutchinson. Graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in Memorial Laawn Cemetery, Arkansas City. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m.
