Larry F. Brungardt, 64, died Oct. 14, 2014, at Hospice House, Hutchinson, after a sudden illness. He was born Jan. 7, 1950, in Hays, Kan., to Vitus and Gertrude (Dome)Brungardt.
He attended St. Joseph Military School in 1968, before he joined the Army in 1969, where he served at Fort Polk. Larry married Terri Davis on May 6, 2000, in Hutchinson. He worked for Dillons and then in 1987 started working for Pella Windows and Doors. He loved to travel, was an avid K-State fan, and a Team Roper. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include: his wife, Terri of Hutchinson; son, Bradley Brungardt and wife Monica of Valley Center, Kan.; daughter, Kimberly Barron and husband Joey of Park City, Kan.; stepson, Shawn Cuzick of Great Bend, Kan.; granddaughters, Mackenzie and Bailee Barron, Hannah Johnston, Alicia Sloan, grandson, Dustin Johnston; sister, Cindy Huser and husband Bryan of Hays, Kan.; brother, Keith Brungardt and wife Beverly of Victoria, Kan.; mother-in-law, Mary Davis of Hutchinson; brothers-in-law, Don Davis Jr. and wife Paula, Dennis Davis and wife Patty; sister-in-laws, Donna Gagnebin and husband Glenn, Angie Wilson and husband Randy; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by: parents; grandson, Aden Brungardt; and his father-in-law, Donald L. Davis Sr.
Funeral Service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, 2014, at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson, with Reverend Jim Rhaesa presiding. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson. Military Honors will be conducted by the Ft. Riley Honor Guard. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday with the family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Elliott Mortuary.
