Larry L. Giffin's Obituary
Larry L. Giffin, 66, died Sept. 4, 2006 at Hutchinson Hospital.
He was born Dec. 19, 1939 in Kansas City, Kansas, the son of George W. and Marie Beck Giffin. He graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1957 and from Hutchinson Junior College in 1960. A longtime Hutchinson resident, he was a retired senior customer engineer with IBM, working there from 1964 to 1994.
He belonged to Trinity United Methodist Church, Hutchinson-Reno Masonic Lodge No. 124, serving as past master in 2005. He served in the U,S. Air Force from l960 to 1966.
On Dec. 19, 1960 he married Sharon K. Coffman in Cheyenne, Wyo. She survives.
Other survivors include: a son, Jeffrey K., Hutchinson; and two grandchildren, Kelsy and Courtney Giffin, both of Wichita.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Elliott Chapel, Hutchinson with Pastor Sara Davis Blodgett presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. A private family graveside service will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, with Masonic graveside rites conducted by the Hutchinson-Reno Masonic Lodge No. 124, AF&AM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Shriner's Children's Hospital Transportation Fund, in care of the funeral home..
