Larry Lee Hedger, 79, died Oct. 13, 2015, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born Nov. 21, 1935, in Hutchinson, to Joe and Elsie May (Schan-bacher) Hedger. Larry graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1953.
He served in the United States Army from 1954 to 1956 and then transferred to the U.S. Army Reserves. He retired from the Hutchinson Correctional Facility.
On July 5, 1993, he married Debra Hazelton. She survives.
Survivors include: daughters, Lita Nelson and husband Tom of Macon, Mo., Denise Bolden of Wichita, and Kenda Rhynes and husband Jonathan of Cape Coral, Fla., Keela Hedger of Hutchinson; sons, Jay Hedger and wife Jill of Andover, and Joe Hedger and wife Kelsi of Hutchinson; brother, Bill Hedger of Hutchinson; 13 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16, 2015, at Elliott Chapel with Pastor Eric Smith presiding. Burial with honors conducted by Ft. Riley Honor Guard will be in Fairlawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, with the family to greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m., at Elliott Mortuary.
