Obituary

Larry David Howes, Sr., of Hutchinson, died Thursday, March 14, 2019. He was born September 9, 1953, in Denver, Colorado, the son of Howard and Billie Mae (Seward) Howes. He was a U. S. Air Force veteran, serving in Desert Storm as a bomb expert. Larry was a warehouse foreman for Showalter and Stellar Fireworks, an avid Denver Bronco's fan, and loved to fish in his spare time.

On February 27, 1993, he married his wife of 26 years, Kathy L. Balding, in Hutchinson. She survives.

Also surviving are: children, David Howes, Jr. of Wichita, Molly King of Waxahachie, Texas, Jarod Howes and wife Jenny of Texas; stepsons, Patrick Tippie and wife Amy of Hutchinson, Michael Tippie and wife Cameron of McGregor, Texas; brother, Ed Howes and wife Linda of Hutchinson; half-sisters, Robin Osenbaugh and husband Melvin of Turon and Thelma Minium and husband Kenny; half-brothers, Jessie Tracy and wife Lucy, and Roy Tracy, all of Hutchinson; sister-in-law, Rose of Salina; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Bill Howes.

Cremation has taken place. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Visitation with family present will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 21, 2019, at Elliott Mortuary and Crematory, Hutchinson. Military honors will be conducted by the McConnell Air Force Honors Team.
