Larry G. Lillard, 84, of South Hutchinson, died June 8, 2026, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born March 15, 1942, in Orrick, Missouri, to Mary Evelyn Lillard.

Larry was a basketball and football star who graduated from Orrick High School, Missouri.

Larry joined the United States Army on May 11, 1966. He received a purple heart, National Defense Service Medal, and many more to honor his service in Vietnam.

Larry was previously married to Joyce (Roe) from 1960-1973 before they parted ways.

On July 29, 1973, he married Patricia “Pat” Tennant. They shared 53 years of marriage before his death.

Larry worked as a truck driver for most of his life. He hauled cars, wheat, milk, and basically everything he could. Larry enjoyed traveling for work and experiencing the views. He enjoyed sports, especially watching the Kansas City Chiefs and the Kansas City Royals. Larry loved to watch his grandchildren play sports and never missed a game.

Larry is survived by: wife, Pat Lillard of the home; children, Troy Lillard of Kansas City, MO, Brandy Kent of Hutchinson, and Dustin Lillard of Las Vegas; grandchildren, Justin (Rachel), Kimsey (Justin), Hagen, Haddie, Ella, Kinley, and Kaycee; and great-grandchildren, Case, Karson, Luca, and Wilder.

He was preceded in death by his mother and his son, Chris Lillard.

Graveside service will be 10 a.m., Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Burrton Cemetery.
