Larry Joe Whitley, 76, died Oct. 22, 2016, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. He was born Jan. 7, 1940, in Hutchinson, to Clarence and Doris Haines. Larry was a member of Eastwood Church of Christ, Hutchinson, and was the facilities manager for 34 years at Prairie Dunes Country Club, Hutchinson.

Larry married Brooksie Leigh Vaughn on Jan. 26, 1974, in Los Angeles, CA. She survives.

Other survivors include: children, Amber Whitley, Hutchinson, Ginny McQueen and husband Lee of Hutchinson, Cathy Miller and husband Chris of Kansas City, MO, Phil Whitley of Hutchinson; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brothers, Fred Haines and wife Susan of Colby, Wally Wren of Hutchinson, and Ron Bodnar; brothers-in-law, Thomas Jost and David Jost, both of Colby; sisters-in-law, Betty Haines of Hutchinson, and Pam Kosiske and husband Jim of Nebraska. He was preceded in death by: his parents; grandson, Shane Stafford; brothers, Dale Haines and wife Darlene, and J.F. Haines.

Cremation has taken place.

Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, 2016, at Eastwood Church of Christ, Hutchinson, with Jimie-Wray Mead presiding. Friends may sign the memorial book prior to the service Saturday at Eastwood Church of Christ. Memorial contributions may be made to Eastwood Church of Christ, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N.
